School Athletics Day
On the 18 November Saint Paul's School had their Athletics day at Saxton Athletics Oval. First we walked down in the rain, but the juniors took the bus. When we got there the juniors did there 60 metre sprints and the seniors did 100 metre sprints then we did our rotations. There was shotput,
discus, high jump, long jump, 200 metre and relays. There was a tuck shop and the food there was corn chips, lollies, Juicies, Moosies, noodles, hot dogs and fizzy drinks. I think we all had a good time at Athletics!!

Egyptian Costume Ideas
Kotuku class have been busy getting their Egyptian costumes ready for our school show in week 9. Kotuku students need a black singlet/t shirt and some black shorts/leggings to wear. They need to bring them to school in a named plastic shopping bag to store on our classroom shelf. Mrs Trolle is organising the Egyptian robe to wear over the shorts and t shirt.
Students are most welcome to find some Egyptian style jewellery to bling up their costume. Josephine, Sapphire and Rosa have found some great gold necklaces, bangles and bracelets at KMart for $1 or $2. Both boys and girls could get them for their costumes. Another idea is to check out second hand shops such as Savemart for costume jewellery.

Touch Rugby Tournament
On Friday the 31st of October it was the Top of the South Catholic Schools touch tournament. The schools that came were St Peter Chanel from Motueka, St Canices from Westport and St Joseph's from Central Nelson. It was being hosted at St Paul's school and it took a lot of organization and hard work! The Competitive Teams were playing at St Paul's and the participation teams played at Salisbury School across the road.
Our year 5-6 team the Rabbitohs, came second in the final against St Josephs. It was a close game, but St Josephs managed to secure a win. Also the year 7-8 competitive team came first place.
During the day we were able to buy food, drink and sweets in the tuck shop. Near the end of the day some of the prices were lowered. Eventually they were giving away free hot dogs and when they ran out of buns they gave away free sausages.
It's safe to say everyone had a awesome time.
Well done everyone!

upset with their team mates. You were honest with the ref's and played honestly which is
why your team received the Sportsmanship Award.
Congratulations All Stars. You deserve the Award.

Hooray Kotuku!
Hooray Kotuku class! Today we came in to find we were the only winners of the Cleanest Classroom Award for term 3. Our lovely cleaners, Raewyn and Steven, kindly left us a bag of lollipops and chocolate to share. They said it was a very close race in the middle syndicate and that we held the lead by a small margin due to our vinyl locker area NEVER having a single piece of paper or belongings on it. This will be the second term in a row that we have won!
WELL DONE KOTUKU!

School Production
Next term we will be very busy getting ready for our whole school production. Mr Phillips is writing and directing the show. Each class will present a different period of history.
Kotuku class will be Egyptians. We are working on our two dances with Mr Phillips and Mrs Trolle ready for next term.
Over the holidays it would be a good time to start looking for some costume items. The students will need a black t-shirt or black singlet and black shorts to wear under their Egyptian costume. They will need a brown belt or rope to tie around their waist and they could either wear bare feet or sandals.
