Stepping Out Dance Routine

Last week on Thursday the middle syndicate went to the Stepping Out dance routine with Dean and Ezra. First they told each class to line up in lines of boys and girls. Next they taught us some freestyle dancing. They did the actions to a song called Treasure. Then we did the dance routines with the song.
It was lots of fun and we hope they come back again.

The Commonwealth Games - Official Glasgow 2014 Mascot

The Commonwealth Games have started this week in Glasgow, Scotland.  The official mascot for the games is a Thistle called Clyde.  Here is Clyde's story . . .

Guardians of the Earth

Welcome back to Term 3 Kotuku class!

This term the middle syndicate will be working on the inquiry unit "Guardians of the Earth".
We will be learning about New Zealand's native plants and trees, how to classify them, their importance to us and animals and how we can protect and preserve our flora and fauna.

We will be visiting the Nelson Museum and also The Brook Waimarama Reserve this term.

Fossil pictures

Yesterday Kotuku class made fossil pictures. Some people made fish, others made shells and some people made Dinosaur fossils! After the drawing stage we added wire. After the wire we added tissue paper. Some people added four layers and others added five. After that we started to add chalk pastel. Here's a few pictures of our fossil pictures!  By Connor and Jonty
