Ministry of Inspiration Events


The Ministry of Inspiration would like to invite you to participate in any of the the exciting events coming up between now and the end of school.

1)  Nelson Junior Chess Tournament
The first Sunday of every month starting 7 September at 1:45 at Victory Community Centre. 2) Philosophy Bites! A one-day workshop on 9 October (second Thursday of the school holidays) from 10-4. This workshop is directed towards students in Years 4-6. See attached flyer or ministryofinspiration.org for more information. 

3) Global Cardboard Challenge! 9-year-old Caine Monroy spent his summer vacation building an elaborate cardboard arcade inside his dad’s used auto parts store. The entire summer went by, and Caine had yet to have a single customer. Then, on the last day of summer, a filmmaker named Nirvan stopped to buy a door handle for his car. Caine asked Nirvan to play, and Nirvan bought a $2 FunPass, becoming Caine’s first customer. The rest is history. 4) ROBOTICS and 3D Printing in CHOCOLATE! Mindkits (Auckland) will be running workshops on 13-14 November at Broadgreen Intermediate. Spaces are limited and the cost TBC. These workshops will be grouped by year level and are all day.

5) Wearable Electronics and more...Two Bit Circus, a Los Angeles based STEAM Carnival is coming to Nelson to present at Ignited. They will also be running student workshops on 17 November. See all the amazing engineering feats they do at http://twobitcircus.com/ The location and cost TBC.

6) NZAquaBots Second Annual Competition: This programme is for intermediate and secondary students. Students build a tethered underwater robot that must compete in an obstacle course race, the heist, and poster presentation. 18 October at Waimea College Pool.
