Treasure Island

This term Kotuku class are working on learning our multiplication tables.  As an incentive to help us learn, we have a chart in our classroom called "Treasure Island".  The idea is to pass each times table and move on to the next island.  When we get to Treasure Island (the 12 times tables) we get some treasure (a golden Crunchie bar!).

So far, 5 people in our classroom have passed all of their times tables.  They are now testers who test other children and write their names on the chart.

You need to work on your 2, 5 and 10 times tables first, then 3, 4, 6   . . . 12.  There are lots of different ways to learn them (apps on your device, flash cards, singing the tables).  On the side of our blog are some links to multiplication games that can help test you.
